Ethiopia’s Yacob found himself evicted from the Big Brother All Stars house during last night’s live Big Brother All Stars Eviction Show (22 August at 20:00 on DStv Channel 198), joining Tatiana, Lerato and Hannington in The Barn.The show kicked off with a blistering performance by the AmaTap Dancers before IK gave viewers a summary of a busy week in the house. It was a week of conflict for the housemates with tempers flaring as Yacob crossed swords with Meryl while Jennifer and Sheila had a tiff over a tube of glue. Meanwhile, it was far more peaceful in The Barn, where last week’s evictee Tatiana wasted no time in getting close to Hannington - in between spending time with her visitor Ofunneka and helping her Barnmates win their task for the week. In addition, Ghana ’s Sammi left Big Brother All Stars voluntarily for health reasons, and everyone wishes him a speedy recovery.Sultry Kenyan star Liz Ogumbo then mesmerized the continent with a performance of her hit “Maro Pa More” – but IK brought everyone back to reality when he took the continent inside the house for Kaone to reveal how he had influenced the nominations. “What did I dooo?” said the Motswana. “I saved myself, that’s for sure, that’s what we do.. and then I replaced myself with Meryl, ‘cos I know she can make it back, any time of day, whatever goes down. Whatever goes down, it’s all about love” he said.After a look at life in The Barn, it was time to evict another Big Brother All Star contestant. “Munya,” said IK, drawing out a desperately lengthy pause. “I’m sorry…but you’re safe.” The Zimbabwean struggled to hold back the emotion as attention turned to Yacob and Meryl. IK continued: “The next housemate to leave the Big Brother All Star house is… Yacob you’ve been evicted, Meryl you are safe.”Once Yacob had said his goodbyes, he joined IK on stage.“Watching you from last season and this season – you’ve come out of your shell, you’re socializing, you’re dancing every Friday – was it a deliberate effort or were you just more comfortable with these housemates?” asked IK “This season was about having fun, that’s what I tried to do, I enjoyed the moments in the house, and that showed,” said Yacob.IK then quizzed him about his relationship with Lerato. “Me and L are friends, I think she knows that, so we’re just gonna be friends,” he told the continent. During the party, you had a few drinks, I don’t know if it was the alcohol or what, but you told the guys, ‘I wanna test Africa, put me up’ - and now you’re out here – do you regret asking them to?” asked IK. “Honestly, I really stand by that,” replied the Ethiopian. “I’ll go back to my life, I did 5 weeks here and it’s gonna be fun”.After seeing who had nominated him, IK asked if he felt slightly betrayed by any of his housemates. “I dunno, just what Code said that he doesn’t really trust me, I thought we were pretty close,” he pondered. “But I did ask for this and I’m glad it happened the way it happened. No regrets, I had a great time,” he said.Then it was Yacob’s turn to get some revenge with his Dagger. IK read out the punishment: “One housemate must make all the beds every morning and keep the bedroom tidy all the time. This dagger commences immediately”. Yacob smiled as he delivered his verdict: “This housemate, doesn’t like to clean, like me, and I think this is probably the laziest housemate next to me inside, so Sheila baby, it’s coming to you,” he said with great delight. Yacob managed to keep his secret safe during his time in the house, but had to reveal it to the housemates after his departure. “I too am a singer….” He told them, drawing howls of laughter from the housemates – who have been making fun of Tatiana after she revealed her secret last week. “Alright, it’s a joke, it’s a joke,” he said revealing that he has never been in love.
The AmaTap Dancers took to the stage once more as IK sent Yacob on his way – little did he know where he was about to go. Once the performance was over, the cameras cut to a bewildered Yacob as he entered The Barn. Putting his glasses on and looking around, it was clear that Yacob was very, very surprised.” “Yacob – where are you?” boomed IK over the speakers. “I don’t know. I feel like I’m in a farm. How long is this for IK? What’s going on IK?” he pleaded as he surveyed the scene. Tatiana then emerged from the doors and hugged him. He quizzed her but she gave little away, claiming to be the only other person in The Barn. As he continued his probing, Liz Ogumbo took to the stage again and closed the show with “Awete”. Apart from keeping their favourite housemate in the game, viewers also stand to win great prizes each week by simply voting.
