MONDAY 31st OCTOBER 2011: CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF 7 BILLIONTH CHILD

To mark the 31st October when the world ushers in the 7 billionth child, UNFPA and Tanzania House of Talents (THT) will on Monday 31 October, join Temeke Municipal Hospital to commemorate this important milestone.

On average there are 80 deliveries at Temeke Municipal Hospital per day, the hospital has been doing an important work with limited equipment and supplies. To assist the hospital in strengthening their maternal health care, UNFPA will donate 5 electric suction machines, 2 oxygen concentration machines and 100 sets of delivery kits, worth 26,900,000 Tshs. In addition the first seven babies born on 31st October will be given small tokens.
