12th September, 2011 Dar Es Salaam Tanzania: The GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™, for all lovers of the GREATNESS™ of Guinness® and the GREATNESS™ of Football, is here. This time around, the not-to-be-missed TV game show phenomenon is going to be even bigger and better than before as footballing African Legends, Jay Jay Okocha, Marcel Desailly, Rigobert Song and Kalusha Bwalya, join all the action showing contestants how to do the new challenges as well as partaking in the Guinness® Football Challenge™ legends Special.
The Tanzanian contestants were recruited last week at leaders club where 8 teams of 16 football fans have secured opportunity to represent Tanzania in GFC. Starting off, they will be travelling to South Africa on the 13th of September and return on the 26th of September to record a commercial to promote the GFC TV show.
The series will be airing on a local television station and will feature all four of these footballing Legends.o Jay Jay Okocha the former Nigerian attacking midfielder known for his stepovers, skill, technique, and being 'so good that they named him twice' not to mention being listed in Pele’s top 100 living players of all timeo Marcel Desailly, one of the best midfield/defense players of the past two decades, having won virtually every major team award, as well as being part of the winning 1998 world cup team o Rigobert Song former Cameroonian defender who has played at a record eight CAN tournaments
o Kalusha Bwalya: Zambia's most capped player and all-time top goalscorer , African footballer of the year 1988.
Renowned for their talent and skill, these four great football Legends will be working with Guinness® throughout as they step up to demonstrate the exciting new physical challenges to the contestants. They will show how the challenges should be done and offer their tips on success, before the contestants get their chance to take on the same challenges live on the show, and see if they can do better.
The four Legends will also come centre stage in the culmination of the series in an action packed GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™ Legends Special episode where they pair up with real East African football fans in the GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™ TV game show.
During this special episode, the Legends will take on the physical challenges, and people at home have a chance to win a place next to them to act as the brains just by playing the GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™ on their mobiles.
