THE AFRICA OLYMPIC QULIFY IN JOHANNESBURG

 Monday 26th: second match for Tanzania Ladies, against Keny. Result is 5-0 for Kenya. The best match ever played from the Tanzania Ladies for determination and concentration. Although Kenya has high experience and really good skill level, the tanzanian women team showed motivation and all the players did the job that they were supposed to do well, limiting the attack of the Kenyan Strikers. The match was suspended for 1 hour due to a big storm, and restarted again with the pitch full of water. 

Three of the women players were injuried and couldn't play the match at their best, but they struggled. Last year, at the World League Qualify, played in November 2014 in Nairobi, Tanzania played Kenya and lost 22-0. The same team which played this game, two days ago.

Tuesday 27th October: Second Match for the Tanzania Men Hockey Team at the Africa Olympic Qulify in Johannesburg.

 Match against Nigeria. Although Nigeria is an experienced and physically strong team, the Tanzanian guys did their best to contain Nigerian attacks, the Tanzanian defence marked very well the opponents and the team, coached by the dutch coach Nick Isbouts assisted by the Tanzanian coach Merica Kahola, worked very well on the organization of defence. 

The match ended 3-0 for Nigeria, but certainly a very good performance of the Tanzanian team. Well done guys! Today match against Kenya, at 14.30 local time.

 Third match for Tanzania Ladies on Tuesday 27th October against Ghana: lost 12-0. Good start from the Tanzania Ladies, first quarter 2-0, trying to defence the quick attack of Ghana, but their technique and speed was too fast for the Tanzanian girls. The last quarter the ghanian team scored 5 goals.The team also suffered the injury of some key players, who couldn't play at their best, and also many players were tired from the previous match against Kenya, played less than 20 hours before. Sad the result, becasue many some goals could be avoided with more concentration, but now we have to look ahead to the next game, against Nigeria, tomorrow. Nigeria lost against Ghana, South Africa and Namibia. Today rest day and let's cheer on the Tanzania Men playing Kenya in one hour.

The first match for Tanzania Ladies against Zimbabwe... 3 players sick in theTanzania LAdies couln't play the first match. The first quarter the match was equilibrated, Zimbabwe have some chances to score but Tanzania defended well and played at its maximum. 10 second before the end of the first quarter, Zimbabwe scored a goal after playing fast a ball out of the circle and the tanzanian defense didn't get ready in time. So after 15' Zimbabwe 1, Tanzania 0. Second quarter started as weel with Tanzania defending good and also we managed to get in the 23 mt of Zimbabwe some times but without being effective. Zimbawe scored the second goal on a short corner in the second quarter, and again at 20 seconds before the end of the second quarter, we got another goal after a rebounce in the area. Second quarter finished with Zimbabwe 3, Tanzania 0. In the third quarter the team started to got tired and lost concentration, no many substitutions could be done because of the lack of players in the bench. Zimbabwe prevailed on the pitch, scoring 3 goals in the third quarter and three in the fourth quarter. Final score: 9-0 for Zimbabwe.
From the inside point of view, we played the best 2 quarters ever in Tanzania ladies hockey team history, but then we lost concentration and self esteem in the third and fourth quarter and Zimbabwe took the chance to score as much as possible. For the women, next match against Kenya on monday 26 october, tomorrow Tanzania men, coached by Nick Isboutsstarts its tournament against Egypt.
