Three Tanzanian TINGA TINGA artists who won prizes during an international exhibition in the South of France known as “Aigle De Nice International,” received their awards at an event held in Dar-es-Salaam on 15th January, 2010.
The painters namely Mr. Augusino .S.Karali won Special Prize of Grand Public and Diploma of Honor, Mr. Maliondo Amini won Special Prize of Nice-Matin, while Mr. Lewis .S.Mseza won a Diploma of Honor.
“The TINGA TINGA painters have also been invited to exhibit their paintings in Monaco this year” said www.african-tinga.com co-founder, Mr. Jean-Louis MILLET.
He further added, “My wife (Dominique) and I decided to create the website in order to promote Eastern African art in Europe; which compares to West African art, is not yet widely known.”
Mr. Jean-Louis MILLET congratulated the artists and wishes them the best of luck in future competitions, as well as in their future exhibitions in Europe.
About African-Tinga website
The African-Tinga website was initiated by Mr. Dominique & Jean-Louis MILLET. It celebrated its 1st Anniversary on 1st November, 2010 in which two artists; Lewis and Jonas were announced to exhibit on the 6th World wide Exhibition of Naif Art in Verneuil-Sur-Avre in France on April/May 2010. They participated on a yearly roaming exhibition through Europe till April 2011, including Katowice-Poland (July / August 2010), Copenhagen – Denmark (December 2010 / January 2011). They are also participating in the Centenary “Henri Rousseau”s competition; which will announce its winner at the end of the exhibition.
